Adolph Dubs

(ur.4 August 1920, zm.14 February 1979) - wa s the U.S. ambassador to Afghanistan from 13 May 1978 to 1979. He was killed during exchanges of fire and a failed attempt to rele ase him from the hands of their captors. Adolph Dubs was born in Chicago, Illinois, USA. During World War II, he served in the Marine Corps of the United States. Between January 1973 and March 1974 he served as Chargé d affaires ad interim to the USA in Moscow. In 1978 he was appointed ambassador to the United States in Afghanistan.
